Shanghai Circus World – No. 1 Circus Venue in China

Shanghai Circus World No. 1 Circus Venue In China

Shanghai Circus World, known as the “No. 1 Circus Venue in China,” is a landmark in Shanghai with its unique architectural design and golden domed roof. The complex consists of five main sections: the Acrobatic Hall, rehearsal rooms, entertainment center, animal housing, and the performers’ reception center. The Acrobatic Hall itself has 1,638 seats and is equipped with advanced lighting and multi-channel surround sound systems. The venue features a rotating stage, a complex elevating stage, a proscenium stage, and fly bars, along with three circular pathways at different heights. This allows for performances to take place simultaneously in the air, mid-air, and on the ground, creating a dynamic and immersive experience. The space is not only ideal for acrobatic and circus competitions but also provides an excellent venue for comprehensive music and dance performances.

Regular circus performances are usually held at 14:00 every Saturday and Sunday, while the acrobatic show “ERA – Intersection of Time” is performed in the evening. For specific showtimes, please consult the ticket office staff or call for more information.

Performances at Shanghai Circus World

Shanghai Circus World is renowned for featuring the world-famous Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe as its main performer. With its luxurious cast, extensive range of programs, exceptional acrobatic skills, and beautiful artistic presentation, it offers over 100 acts of acrobatics, circus, and magic, each showcasing thrilling and elegant performances. The unique charm of Shanghai’s acrobatics and its artistic advantage contribute to the distinctive style of Shanghai Circus World.

The highlight of the circus is the “Happy Circus,” which features a series of clown stars. These clowns weave together animal performances, vividly showcasing their humorous and entertaining personas.

The collective equestrian program seamlessly integrates with acrobatic acts. The performances range from majestic and thrilling to graceful and elegant, elevating horseback artistry and transitioning the audience from excitement and tension to a relaxed and serene state. Lions and tigers, seasoned by years of stage performances, display their skills with poise and confidence. The clumsy bear, new to the stage, demonstrates exercises, parallel bars, rings, and obstacle jumps. The newly costumed star dogs appear even more adorable, lively, and agile. The sea lions, performing together as a couple, exhibit perfect coordination and enhanced skills.

The lion-tiger performance “Lion Roar, Tiger Roar” is a unique beast show in China, featuring four tigers and two lions performing many challenging moves together. In the most exciting segment, “Lion Master and Tiger Leap Over Lady,” a female performer sits on a high wooden bridge as lions and tigers leap over her repeatedly, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
