Shanghai Flower Port is located on the beautiful shores of the East China Sea, with the International Airport to the north and the Yangshan Deep Water Port to the south, offering a prime geographical location. Covering an area of 10 square kilometers, the Flower Port is divided into four main sections: the Automated Greenhouse Production Area, the Flower New Variety Exhibition Area, the Education and R&D Promotion Area, and the Supporting Service Area.
The Flower New Variety Exhibition Area is the primary showcase of the port, featuring 3.2 million tulips across over 300 varieties. This area is renowned for its unique and diverse displays. With careful cultivation by horticultural experts, soil improvement, nutrient supplementation, and adjusted planting methods, the blooming period of the tulips can be extended by an entire month.
The exhibition garden hosts three themed flower displays annually. In addition to the tulip exhibition held from late March to early May, the garden features aquatic plants such as lotus and water lilies from mid-May to the end of September. From June to August, there is a special showcase of aquatic flowers, and from September to October, the garden hosts a potted chrysanthemum exhibition.
In addition to the colorful tulips, the exhibition garden features distinctive architecture. Opposite the tulip displays is a 30-meter-long white artificial waterfall cascading down from rocks. On the east side of the garden stand three classic Chinese-style windmills, adding a strong rural charm to the area. The garden also includes various traditional Chinese wooden bridges and wooden houses, each showcasing unique designs.

Important Tips
In spring, it’s important to avoid flower toxins to prevent skin allergies. Common flowers such as rhododendrons, mimosa, oleander, poinsettia, and calla lilies contain toxic substances that can cause poisoning if ingested. Flowers like bougainvillea, hydrangeas, and geraniums may trigger allergic reactions. Additionally, winter cherry, monstera, lycoris, and lilies contain various toxic compounds. Therefore, it’s best to enjoy flowers visually rather than by touch or ingestion.
